I've filled out and completed the Races page.  Everybody should get to know the different types of people in Ruwar so they can know what they're like for "in-game" and because everyone will have to pick a Race for the character they'll be playing!

Welcome to the official site for the monthly role-playing game run by me, Jude, for my daughters Jessica, Rachel, and their friends!

As a life-time gamer, who hasn't played in years, I'm very excited to be able to run a game for everybody.  In case you're not familiar with role-playing, here's a quick description.  Someone, the game ref, writes out a story plot/setting and invites players to come add the roles of the characters.  All of this is governed by rules (this is what makes it an actual game, not just collective daydreaming).  What you wind up with is a game that is a form of collaborative story telling where the players get to control the actions of their imaginary heroes.  It's a great big mash up of math and dice for probability, socialization for teamwork, and creative problem solving for dealing with imaginary obstacles.  All in all, a fun time!


So, the tabs on the top of this page here will fill you in on all the standard info you might want to know before you play.  They're full of information on how and when we play, and also stuff about the imaginary world we play in, what types of people you can be and what types of creatures that might be encountered.  If you're planning on playing, you'll certainly benefit from reading as much of it as you can.  It just might keep your character from getting into deep trouble!
